Attacked at 12 years old
The victim was 12 years old at the time of the alleged events, which date back to 1995. A man had entered her Parisian apartment pretending to be an electrician, sedated her with ether before attacking her sexually.
His mother, who had returned home shortly after that, had managed to scare the attacker away. A complaint had been filed, but the attacker was never found.
The thirty-year-old explained to our colleagues that she recognized Dominique Pelicot thanks to the images broadcast during the Mazan rape trial. In the absence of an investigation and conviction, it is not certain that the victim's attacker is indeed Dominique Pelicot.
Already several Cold Cases
Dominique Pelicot is indicted in other cases dating back to this period. Ether had also been used. The first time for the rape and murder of a real estate agent. The second time for an attempted rape of another woman in the same profession.
In the 90s, other cases of rape or attempted rape raised questions. These connections are not enough to establish the guilt of the septuagenarian and for some cases, other suspects are already implicated.
The Ogre of Mazan
As a reminder, the septuagenarian was sentenced in December 2024 to 20 years in prison for aggravated rape. The man nicknamed the Ogre of Mazan organized dozens of rapes on his own wife, Gisèle, over ten years. The other defendants in the trial – 51, 50 of whom were present – were sentenced to lighter sentences. Some of them appealed the verdict of the Avignon judicial court, but not Dominique Pelicot.
