Saturday, September 28, around 11 p.m., a shooting left two dead in the 14th arrondissement of Marseille, in the Cité des Iris , reported BFMTV Marseille Provence. The events occurred in an association premises, transformed into a shisha bar, according to a police source. Four people were eacute; wounded, adds La Provence.

Two people were in cardiorespiratory arrest when the firefighters arrived. They died on the scene. Three injured people were taken to hospital. Two of them were taken into care as an absolute emergency, one of whom was in critical condition. The victims were hit in the chest, legs and neck. A fourth injured person went to the emergency room on his own, according to La Provence.
The victims were hit by 7.62mm (Kalashnikov) and 9mm caliber projectiles, according to BFMTV. The motive for the shooting is currently unknown. It is therefore not known whether the victims were specifically targeted or whether they were victims of indiscriminate shooting, details La Provence. The police also found a vehicle that had been set on fire in the 14th arrondissement.
An investigation has been opened by the Marseille prosecutor's office for “attempted murder”, according to Franceinfo, and entrusted to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division (DCOS, formerly the judicial police). This is the second shooting in three days in this district of Marseille.
