The redevelopment of public spaces, such as the Tour de l'Église, the start of construction of the multimodal interchange hub on Place Leclerc, and the opening of the Bourguet footbridge illustrate this dynamic. “These projects, the fruit of our shared commitment, are the guarantee of a more dynamic, more welcoming and more pleasant city to live in”, he added.
The environment also remains a priority for him with initiatives such as collective self-consumption in Crassous, the de-impermeabilization of parking lots and the planting of 1,000 honey-producing trees. These concrete actions demonstrate a strong commitment to a sustainable living environment.
“Consolidating our healthcare offering”
The mayor also emphasized social issues, stating: “2025 will see solidarity measures more than ever at the heart of our actions”. Supporting the most vulnerable, supporting associations and intergenerational mutual aid are also among the major axes.
Finally, health remains a crucial challenge. The Multidisciplinary Health Center will open its doors, while the Emile Borel hospital faces recruitment challenges. “We must know how to press the right levers to consolidate our healthcare offering”, he acknowledged, while welcoming the opening of a cutting-edge radiology department with three new practitioners.
In conclusion, Sébastien David thanked the economic and associative stakeholders and municipal agents, describing them as “essential human components for the success of these projects”. And to conclude: “May 2025 be a year of realized hopes, shared projects and love for our Saint-Affrique.”
