This time it's there, a first trailer for the next Star Wars series, The Acolyte, has been released. This original creation will arrive on June 4 on Disney+. The teasing platform teased this launch this Monday by showing a visual of a bloody lightsaber. Enough to confirm a more mature tone for this production.

“In an age of light, darkness arises”. This comment around the first visual of The Acolytealready said a lot about the threat of the dark side which will be at the heart of this Star Wars series. The first trailer confirms this prediction. We see a fairly dark atmosphere and rhythmic combat.

Here is the synopsis of these new adventures:

In the final days of the High Republic era, as dark secrets tarnish the galaxy and a number of dark side forces emerge, an ex-Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes. But the powers they face turn out to be much more formidable than expected…

While the story takes place during the High Republic (before episode I), the Jedi dominate this universe, while the Sith have disappeared. We will have understood, this is not the case, and the latter are in ambush. We can also hope that this production frees itself from the Skywalkers, whose presence sometimes tends to pollute the storylines of the franchise.

A casting with great care< /h2>

The series The Acolyte pulled out all the stops by offering us some figures well known to pop fans culture. We can thus cite: Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), or even Amandla Stenberg (The Hunger Games), or even Jodie Turner-Smith (Sex Education) .

This first taste makes us want to see more. There is no doubt that Lucasfilm will be able to tease its original creation a little more in the coming weeks before the launch at the beginning of June. Let us also remember that Disney plans to release the Star Wars series The Skeleton Crew this year. A project which remains quite mysterious for the moment which we spoke to you about in a previous article.
