As Starlink continues its global expansion, it has just reached another important milestone. Indeed, as announced on the X account of SpaceX's satellite connection service, it now has 4 million customers around the world. And in terms of availability, Starlink is now offered in more than 100 countries and territories around the world. Starlink's growth since its launch has been very rapid.
As a reminder, beta testing began in 2020. In December 2022, Starlink was pleased to have exceeded one million customers. And the 2 million users were reached in September 2023. Thus, in the space of a year, Starlink has doubled the number of users. And by the way, between May 2024 and September 2024, it has registered 1 million new users.
Starlink is connecting more than 4M people with high-speed internet across 100+ countries, territories and many other markets.

The Starlink constellation continues to grow and according to Elon Musk, nearly two-thirds of the active satellites around the planet belong to this service. In addition, Starlink continues to expand its availability around the world. For example, in September, its satellite connection arrived in Burundi, Yemen, and Zimbabwe. In addition, Starlink does not just connect homes, since it also offers its satellite connection to boats and planes, via special subscriptions. In September, it announced the availability of the Starlink connection on Airbus planes of the Hawaiian Airlines company. And from 2025, Starlink will also be deployed on Air France flights.
Finally, it should be remembered that Starlink is also preparing an offer that will allow you to connect directly to a smartphone, thanks to a new type of satellite that simulates 4G networks from space. This offer, which Starlink is rolling out in partnership with operators, is intended to put an end to dead zones. And Elon Musk has already mentioned his intention to make the use of these satellites free for everyone for emergency situations, provided they have the necessary authorizations.
