It was this Thursday, January 9, that the trial of M6's star presenter, Stéphane Plaza, opened at the Paris Criminal Court. After being postponed for the first time, the hearing was maintained on this date. As a reminder, the man who presents real estate shows on M6 is being prosecuted for “habitual physical and/or psychological violence by a partner” and for “habitual psychological violence by a partner” by two of his former partners.
Several journalists present on site were already able to testify to Stéphane Plaza's marked appearance. BFMTV journalist Vincent Vantighem gives a detailed report of what happened during the hearing. It is notably thanks to his information on X, formerly Twitter, that Stéphane Plaza's comments can be reported. When he spoke, the host wanted to defend himself against the accusations made against him by his former partners. And the least we can say is that he used some rather unusual arguments.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000“Indeed, I'm not faithful. But I'm not for things with several people” he declared when it was a question of a time when he had “proposed” his ex-partner to people with whom he was in contact. A scene that was also witnessed by her colleague from M6, Emmanuelle Rivassoux, as she explained to investigators. It was a “meal where Stéphane Plaza made his girlfriend at the time look like a 'call girl'. According to Emmanuelle Rivassoux, everyone was embarrassed at the table” explains Vincent Vantighem.
This is what prompted Stéphane Plaza to say that he has “the habit of making humor, a little, repetitive comedy” before giving details on the “stuff with several people”. When it came to broken and dislocated fingers, Stéphane Plaza this time used another argument: his dyspraxia. After an argument, he allegedly got up to leave and, while his ex-partner had her hand in the air, took it to lower it. It was at this moment that the fingers allegedly suffered. “I don't control my strength. I'm dyspraxic. I've hurt many people. But physically, I don't pin her against the wall” the host maintained before the judge.
The journalist present on the scene emphasizes that Stéphane Plaza denies all the accusations brought against him with great gestures and facial expressions. “He is very agitated in court, he mimes and replays the scene. He makes a lot of gestures to contest the facts” he explains. Targeted by two complaints from former partners and by other statements that highlight all the violence he may have instigated, the host risks up to 10 years in prison and a fine of 150,000 euros.
