It is this Thursday, January 9, 2025 that the star host of M6 Stéphane Plaza, who specializes in real estate programs, appears before the Paris Criminal Court. As a reminder, he was accused of violence against two ex-partners and risks a 10-year prison sentence and a fine of up to 150,000 euros. Present when Stéphane Plaza arrived in court, Paris Match journalist Baptiste Thomas was able to film him and publish the images on X, formerly Twitter.
With his jacket askew and dark circles under his eyes, the host of Recherche appartement ou maison must now face the charges against him after having already postponed his hearing. As a reminder, a first hearing was to take place in August 2024. However, as our colleagues at La Dépêche point out, Stéphane Plaza's “clinical psychologist” had “strongly advised” her patient not to go to court.

According to the latter, the host accused of physical and psychological violence by two ex-partners was at risk of “psychological breakdown linked to media pressure and the harassment and blackmail attempts he had suffered”. The hearing is therefore being held on January 9 to judge the facts. These date back to October 2023, when a Mediapart investigation brought up the statements of three former partners of Karine Le Marchand's close friend.
A first ex-partner accuses him of having broken and dislocated several of her fingers in the spring of 2022 and presents text messages and medical certificates to support his statements. Another ex-partner accuses him of having made death threats against her in September 2022, accompanied by humiliation and torture. Finally, a third ex-partner reported threats from the host with a fork when he discovered her affair in September 2021.

Complaints from two of these former partners have been filed, and Stéphane Plaza has been placed under judicial supervision pending his trial. He is therefore being prosecuted by the courts for “habitual physical and/or psychological violence by a cohabitant” and for “habitual psychological violence by a cohabitant”. The hearing, which opened at 9:30 a.m. on January 9, is continuing in Paris.
