This January 9, 2025, the trial for domestic violence of the host Stéphane Plaza begins. The flagship real estate specialist of M6 had created a network of agencies in 2015, playing on his popularity. The brands that bear his name are sometimes torn between the desire to keep the affair quiet and the questions of their customers.
“Hello, I have a rather unusual question…” Is the trial of Stéphane Plaza for domestic violence a bad look in the eponymous real estate agencies? ? In the region, the managers of the brands that are part of the association of the famous presenter of real estate research programs are divided.
An embarrassing situation
We contacted about fifteen agencies among the twenty that make up Hérault, Gard, Aude, Lozère, Aveyron and Pyrénées-Orientales. Taboo is often king: “We won't tell you anything, anything, anything!”
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000But some managers tell us that the matter bothers them: “Of course, ethically, we can do better. Afterwards, the people who come, it clearly doesn't bother them. But when I think about it, I tell myself that it's not great, that's for sure.” A manager from Hérault emphasizes that her brand has nothing to do with the legal troubles of the former M6 star: “We remain a very free agency. Whatever we think, we haven't received any instructions on how to behave from up there. We're not going to talk about it with customers, and we keep our opinions to ourselves, it's common sense.”
No impact
For most of these brands, the trial had no impact impact on their business. A question that will have to be asked again depending on the outcome of the trial. “When the case came out a year ago, people would just come to ask us questions, to find out if we had any information on it, a manager from Aude tells us. But since then it has died down.”
Some clients even came to express their support for Stéphane Plaza in an agency in Gard: “They were an elderly couple. They told us that they liked his shows, that he was a great host. It's true that fans are less selective. Maybe they confuse the agency with Stéphane Plaza. We have no opinion on it. We have to let justice do its job.”
On the Stéphane Plaza immobilier website, the network proudly claims its status, for the fifth consecutive year, as Best Agency of the Year according to a study (4,500 opinions) by In Marketing Survey SL.
The page has changed somewhat since 2015, as evidenced by Way back archives machine. The photo of Stéphane Plaza is placed lower, it is also smaller. Perhaps the host sells less now. The fact remains that Stéphane Plaza, whose trial begins Thursday, has not been convicted and is presumed innocent.
