Météo-France places eighteen departments on alert for violent winds in its 6 a.m. weather report, this Monday, January 6, 2025. An episode associated with the passage of storm Floriane, which will circulate intensely today from Vendée to the Ardennes via Ile-de-France.

From Sunday evening, January 5, 2025, the wind strengthened in the Rhône Valley. The situation will last until Monday, end of day, Météo-France emphasizes in its 6 o'clock bulletin published this Monday, January 6, 2025.

Storm Floriane will circulate quickly but intensely during the day this Monday along an axis starting from Vendée to the Ardennes via Ile-de-France.

At 6 o'clock this Monday, January 6, Météo-France places 18 departments on orange alert in a bulletin updated, against 21 the day before. Here are the movements in orange alert :

200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000

Ardennes Meuse Marne Aisne Seine-et-Marne Paris Oise Yvelines Essonne Eure-et-Loir Loiret Loir-et-Cher Sarthe Indre-et-Loire Maine-et-Loire Vendée Loire Rhône

Up to 110 km/h

In the Rhône Valley, gusts are already reaching “70 to 110 km/h south of the Rhône department (112 km/h recorded in Reventin in nearby Isère, 99 km/h in Bron)”. They were “more modest in the Loire, except on the Pilat massif (107 km/h on Pilat-Graix)”.

Over the last two hours, gusts of more than 70 km/h affected a large part of the Vendée department. Occasionally, 80 to 90 km/h were reached in certain areas.

Call for caution

The axis of the strong gusts of wind seems to favor a more southerly axis, meteorologists emphasize. In the departments bordering the departments placed on orange alert, the wind could blow strongly without requiring a change in alert color for the time being.

Météo-France calls for caution and recommends keeping informed of the development of the next alert maps published during the day.

From this Monday evening, the depression should evacuate outside our borders, towards Germany, Switzerland and Italy and this alert will be lifted, according to La Chaîne Météo.
