Students at this academy will enjoy longer vacations than others, with a big advantage

Many students will be at an advantage this year by enjoying longer vacations than others.

As students have returned to school, the dates for the 2024-2025 school year holidays are already available. The first, the All Saints' Day holidays, will begin on October 19, after seven weeks in class, with a return on November 4, followed by a long weekend with November 11, a public holiday. For the holidays, all students will be on vacation from December 21 to January 6.

For the winter and spring holidays, however, the holidays will be staggered, depending on zones A, B and C, in order to spread out the departure dates and therefore better manage the flow of travelers. The order this year is as follows: first zone B, then C and finally A. Corsica will follow the zone C holidays this year. The school year will end on July 5th after 36 weeks of classes.

That being said, some students will be advantaged during a very specific vacation period this school year. These are students from zone B and therefore from the academies of Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Rouen and Strasbourg. They will have a longer vacation in the spring, a break that they will begin on Saturday, April 5.

The schoolchildren will, in fact, gain a day, by returning on a Tuesday rather than a Monday. The explanation is simple: the spring holidays are officially due to end on April 21, which is actually Easter Monday, which is a public holiday. The return to work will therefore be smooth on Tuesday, April 22. This coincidence of the calendar may allow parents to slightly postpone their family vacations if they wish.

The other zones will not benefit from this additional day of rest since it is included in their holiday period. A similar scenario is emerging on May 1 for zone A, including the academies of Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon and Poitiers. Leaving on vacation last, she is therefore the least fortunate this year.

Zone B will also have the chance to be alone on her first week of vacation. Another big advantage for them and their parents. The busiest week in the spring will be April 14 when Zone B, Zone C and Corsica will be on vacation at the same time, as well as April 21 when Zone A, Zone C and Corsica will be on vacation at the same time.
