Table tennis: ASPTT players from Sète finished the year as best they could

ASPTT Sète played the last day of the first phase and not all the objectives were achieved.

In Regional 3, Sète 1 (Alexis Abad, Arif Gezici, Vincent Pirouelle and Martin Zarb) traveled to Limoux. A leader behind which five teams are within one point. And who asserted his superiority on the field. Only Martin Zarb managed to win two matches. A defeat (12-2) which sees the Sète team finish in sixth place.

In Departmental 1, Sète 2 (Liam Beck, Mathis Imbert, Robin Meyzonnet and Stéphan Urena) travelled to Saint-Félix-de-Lodez for a clash between the two runners-up in the group, with a possibility of promotion to the higher division. After very close games, Sète lost 9-5. Note the exploits of the young Liam Beck, 841 points, who won against a player with 1257 points with a beautiful game full of suspense: 12-10 in the tie-break! The Sète team finished third.
Sète 3 (Cédric Bergay, Juliette Julia, Jérôme Labord and Timéo Villino) lost 10-4 against Pérols despite three brilliant performances by the cadet Timéo Villino. The team finished fifth.

In D2, Sète 4 (Matt Bredel, Matthias Hammadi, Pascal Leblanc and Quentin Sokolowski) won 9-5 against Claretain. The team finished third ex aequo. Still in D2, Sète 5 (Nelson Blirando, Loïck Gregori, Patrick Misse and William Polis) lost 11-3 against a strong Montpellier team. The Sète team achieved three performances. The team promoted from D3 at the start of the season is relegated.

In D3, Sète 6 won 10-4 against Capestang with performances from Jeanne Tolmau and Lucien Mancuso. The team finished sixth.

In the end, most of the teams had moved up to the higher division in September, with the objective of staying up. Which was achieved except for D2 and most likely for R3. The second phase of the championship will start at the end of January.
