Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu is one of the three guests of Frédéric Lopez in the latest issue of Un dimanche à la campagne broadcast on February 2. Alongside handball player Nikola Karabatic and comedian Waly Dia, the actress lent herself to the game of confidences, far from the Parisian hustle and bustle. From the beginning of the show, the fifty-year-old recalled with emotion her childhood in Rome with her father, actor Philippe Leroy-Beaulieu who made a career in Italy.

A lonely childhood but a great admiration for her father

Despite a rather solitary childhood, the actress admits to having always had a lot of admiration for her father, even if she recognizes having “judged him sometimes harshly, because he was complex“. She also underlines the importance of having inherited her masculine first name: “It's a strong imprint to bear your father's name, especially when you're a little girl.”

A precious legacy despite the pain of loss

When talking about her recently deceased father, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu cannot contain her emotion. “He just left not long ago, so talking about him is…“, she says, her voice choked with sobs. Philippe Leroy-Beaulieu has indeed passed away June 1, 2024.

But beyond the pain, his daughter especially remembers the beautiful values that he passed on to her. “He was a super honest guy, who loved people, super honest“, she testifies before continuing: “These are things that I followed very much, because that's the most beautiful thing he had to transmit to me. His humanity“.

The actress in her father's footsteps

In addition to her first name and her values, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu also has inherited her father's vocation. Like him, she embraced the profession of actress and today has a great career, thanks in particular to the series Dix pour cent and Emily in Paris which revealed her to the general public.

A destiny that seems to be taking shape as a beautiful tribute to this father so admired, despite the trials and pains. There is no doubt that Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu will know, with sensitivity and talent, perpetuate this artistic and human heritage.
