Taxes: 639 euros for 9 million households… will you receive this amount in your bank account on January 15th ?

The annual advance on tax credits and reductions will be paid on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. The Directorate General of Public Finances (DGFiP) announced that this is an average payment of €639 per beneficiary household. Just over 9 million tax households are concerned.

“The advance of tax reductions and credits will be paid on January 15, 2025 to 9 million households for a total amount of 5.8 billion euros”, announced the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty in a press release published on January 8, 2025.

The transfer will be denominated “Advance credimpot” to your account if you are concerned.

Paid in one go, this advance corresponds to “60% of the total amount of reductions and tax credits declared in spring 2024 for expenses incurred in 2023”, specified Eric Lombard, Minister of the Economy and Amélie de Montchalin, Minister responsible for Public Accounts, in the same press release.

Depending on the declaration of income and expenses incurred in 2024, which will be filed next spring, the final amount of tax reductions and credits, to which the taxpayer is entitled, “will be calculated and will be subject to regularization in the summer of 2025, taking into account the amount of the advance paid in January 2025”, specifies the DGFiP.

How much exactly ?

A document specifying the amount and payment terms will be available online on impots.gouv.fr in the personal space of each taxpayer concerned in the days preceding the payment. You will be notified by email if you are concerned.

If the tax authorities do not have your bank details, you will receive a check, sent by post by the end of January, Money vox points out.

Who is entitled to it ?

The 9 million tax households concerned who are entitled to this sum include, recalls Le Parisien, taxpayers employing employees at home, those who have childcare costs, those who have made donations to associations, made rental investments or have accommodation costs in nursing homes.
