The incident took place last weekend. A 16-year-old student from Paris was on a TGV train traveling between the capital and Mulhouse (Alsace) to return to his parents' home. That's when he received a message from his bank, telling him that his credit card had just been used on the train, reports Le Bien Public.

Buying a beer

The latter had suspicions, since he did not move from his seat. As a result, he decided to inform the SNCF controllers. Searches were then carried out on board the train and the officers headed towards the carriage where the bar was located.

There, they discovered a man who had just bought a beer with a bank card, according to the local media. After a check and several questions, the suspected individual had gotten rid of the card in question.

Early in the evening, shortly after 9 p.m., the victim and the accused had to get off the TGV in Dijon (Côte-d’Or). Directly arrested, the man, a 26-year-old Algerian seeking asylum, admitted the facts during his police custody.

The beer will cost him more than expected since he will be the subject of a preliminary admission of guilt (CRPC) appearance next July, specifies Le Bien Public.
