“That’s cool”: Elon Musk (finally) praises an Apple product

For a few years now, Elon Musk seems to have a grudge against Apple. In 2021, for example, he criticized the Cupertino company's closed system. Musk also criticized the batteries used by Apple that same year. And recently, when Apple presented Apple Intelligence and its integration of ChatGPT (which Elon Musk also hates), the Tesla boss threatened to ban iPhones and Macs from his company. “If Apple integrates OpenAI into the operating system, Apple devices will be banned from my companies. This is an unacceptable breach of security”, he wrote on the social network X.

But recently, Elon Musk has instead praised an Apple product, to everyone's surprise. On Thanksgiving Day (November 28), Tim Cook shared a rather moving Apple ad highlighting the hearing aid feature built into the AirPods Pro 2. “I’m so proud of the many teams at Apple that are building powerful technologies that improve people’s lives. The hearing aid feature on AirPods Pro 2 uses your personalized sound profile to help you hear the moments that matter.”, also wrote the Apple boss. And Elon Musk responded to this publication by writing “That’s cool”.

And that’s not all, since, on the same day, Musk also reposted Tim Cook’s Thanksgiving message: “Thanksgiving is an opportunity to thank each other and hope for health and prosperity. This year, I am grateful for the many opportunities I have and the people in my life, including the Apple team, our users, and everyone who strives to make the world a better place.”

A feature that can change people's lives

In September, Apple announced new hearing health features for its AirPods Pro 2, including an assistive listening feature.

“This new feature builds on the personalized hearing profile generated by the Hearing Test feature to transform AirPods Pro into a medical-grade hearing aid. Once configured, it makes personalized dynamic adjustments that increase the volume of ambient sounds in real time, helping users to more easily participate in conversations and integrate into the world around them”, the Cupertino company had indicated.

Unfortunately, as our colleagues at 01net explain, we will have to wait until 2025 to enjoy this new Apple feature in France.
