The 2025 Pirelli Calendar marks the return of “sexy” but without vulgarity

The Pirelli Calendar 2025 is finally out and was presented at the Natural History Museum in London on Tuesday 12 November 2024. Called “Refresh and Reveal”, it is shot by photographer Ethan James Green, a fashion photographer renowned for his strikingly intimate black and white portraits. This 51st edition revisits the history of the calendar, adopting a new sensual approach to his models, after the parenthesis that occurred in 2016, when the nude had almost completely disappeared with the American photographer Annie Leibovitz, giving way to portraits of women more dressed and sometimes without makeup. “MeToo has really forced everyone to take a break, which is really good,” explains Ethan James Green to the Guardian. But "the time has come for celebrities to take their clothes off," he assured. "If I have to do Pirelli, I want to do Pirelli," the American photographer justified himself. 

The cast of “Refresh and Reveal” brings together actors, artists, singers and models of various ages and nationalities, some of whom have previously collaborated with the photographer, with talents such as Vincent Cassel, Hunter Schafer, Padma Lakshmi, Italian Elodie, Simone Ashley, Hoyeon, Jodie Turner-Smith, Martine Gutierrez, Connie Fleming, John Boyega and Jenny Shimizu.
