The diversity of our training courses echoes the diversity of the actions of the Aubrac Regional Natural Park“, rejoices Olivier Martin, director of the agricultural high schools of Lozère. “Our establishments express a real interest in benefiting from the contributions of their agents or in carrying out actions in the field that illustrate and enrich our teaching“, he continued.

On Thursday, November 28, Julien Tuffery, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the EPLEFPA (Local Public Establishment for Agricultural Education and Professional Training) of Lozère, and Bernard Bastide, Chairman of the Park, signed an agreement to formalize and perpetuate the partnership that has linked them since the creation of the Park.

It is an opportunity and a recognition“, insists Bernard Bastide, Chairman of the Park. “Agricultural high schools are a breeding ground for future young people who settle in the area.

Supporting students

Since 2018, an increasing number of projects have been conducted with young people from the Louis-Pasteur aquaculture high school in La Canourgue, the CFA-CFPPA of Lozère, in Marvejols and the François-Rabelais high school in Civergols, in Saint-Chély-d'Apcher. Interventions by agents to present what a Park is, discuss the issues of the area: agriculture, water, forest, biodiversity or to support students in their projects.

Presentation of the Marteloscope, this site for learning forest management, participation in the École du Parc, in the territorial food plan, ecological engineering operations, student activities in schools and social establishments and participation in the animation of the transhumance festival… Students are well served in terms of learning.

Sustainable awareness

It's a very positive partnership“, continues Geneviève Gasq-Barès, elected representative of the Park in charge of territorial education. “Students discover what a Park is and think about its issues… In Condom d'Aubrac, they welcomed two young people who, after their studies in your establishments, created a market gardening activity and settled here permanently“, she says. This signature formalizes this partnership with the Park and with the territory, and perpetuates it for sustainable awareness of local issues among young people.
