Samsung is preparing the launch of its next high-end smartphones. And while we don't yet know the release date of the Galaxy S25 series, rumors suggest that Samsung should unveil these new models as early as this January. In the meantime, fans of the Korean brand are wondering what processor will power the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra.
Samsung's next flagships could benefit from a significant performance improvement if they use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite. In addition to the fact that this chip is engraved in 3 nm, it also benefits from Qualcomm's Oryon technology, which boosts performance.“It features the world’s fastest mobile processor, with peak speeds of 4.32 GHz. Plus, it features 45% better CPU performance, 40% better Adreno GPU performance, up to 45% faster NPU, and up to 27% overall power savings,” reads Qualcomm’s website.
And the good news is that some sources suggest that the “international” version of the Galaxy S25 will indeed use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. But that's not all: it's even possible that Samsung has collaborated with Qualcomm to develop an improved version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite for its high-end smartphones.

In a report this week, Android Central is reporting on leaked benchmarks that suggest Samsung may be using an “overclocked” version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite to achieve higher performance than the base model. In essence, the processor Samsung is using could have a higher clock speed than Qualcomm’s announced 4.32 GHz.
As usual, caution is advised, as this is not official information. However, it should be noted that this would not be the first time that Samsung has collaborated with Qualcomm to offer an improved processor on its smartphones. The Galaxy S23, launching in 2023, for example, uses an improved version of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 gen 2 chip.
