The device has just been installed and will improve patient care in Millau.
For a quality mammogram, there is no need to go to Montpellier. It is the Montpellier University Hospital that travels to Millau. For nearly a year and a half, a partnership between the two structures has been in place. This is materialized by the arrival of Montpellier health professionals to practice within the walls of the Millau hospital.

This Thursday, January 9, they were happy to formalize the arrival of a new mammograph in the imaging department. Professor Menjot de Champfleur, director of the department in Montpellier, and Dr. Emmanuelle Pagès-Bouic, who regularly travels to Millau, now benefit from the same device as in their original hospital. “We are very happy to offer the same technologies as at the CHU, cutting-edge technology,” presents Emmanuelle Pagès-Bouic. It increases the sensitivity of detection and we can now do biopsies, which we did not do before.” This cutting-edge device makes it possible to produce images that can be used in three dimensions on the computer and offers more precision to doctors in their reading.
“The best in France”
More than this technology – “the best in France”, according to health professionals – the care pathway has been redesigned. Two rooms are now dedicated to patient care. One for mammography, the other for ultrasounds and biopsies. 28 to 30 patients can be treated in one day, “which is more than at the Montpellier University Hospital”, assures Emmanuelle Bouic-Pagès. “We now have a space entirely dedicated to female imagery and the flow was not ergonomic, supports Nicolas Menjot de Champfleur. Work has also been done in this direction to improve support.”
