How to get rid of your Christmas tree after New Year's Eve ? This is a question that comes up a lot after December 25. This is why the Agglo Béziers Méditerranée has opened collection points in the municipalities of its territory so that users can drop off their old trees there. They have been operational since December 26 and until January 27.

“We have tried to ensure that this collection is as close as possible to the residents, indicates Stéphane Gachon, director of the Waste Prevention and Management department of the Agglo. We have opened several points in different parts of the territory of the city of Béziers.”

Six collection points

This year, no fewer than six points have been opened: Place Antoine-Moulin, University-Media Library, Place David-D’Angers, Place du Forum, Route de Pézenas and arènes-piscine.

The trees must be deposited without packaging, without artificial snow or decorations, or even a pot. “We only collect natural trees, that is to say not flocked, not painted with artificial spray, continues Stéphane Gachon. Because these trees are intended to be crushed and are intended to feed our compost production.”

The inhabitants of the Agglo also have the possibility of throwing their tree in the various recycling centers. It is not possible to use the bulky waste collection service because the Energy Transition law does not allow plants and bulky waste to be mixed.
