It was Roman Chabanon from Mende, a biochemical engineer specializing in cancer immunotherapy, who was chosen by the administrators of the Société des lettres to receive its 14th annual grand prize. His prize, embodied by the Petite arabesque by Edgar Degas, was officially presented to him on December 30 at the Maison consulaire. In front of an audience of nearly 80 people, the 31-year-old laureate gave a presentation of his career and the field of his research conducted at the Gustave-Roussy center. Roman Chabanon was able to interest his audience with this serious subject, which affects so many people and whose medical support is making immense progress, particularly with immunotherapy, aimed at activating the immune system of each patient to overcome and defeat the disease.
