The director of the ARS will come to South Aveyron following the various arrests.

The Emile-Borel collective was heard. Brought back into the spotlight by various mobilizations concerning the Saint-Affrique hospital, this group of people had sent several messages to the ARS Occitanie, including a letter recently sent to its director, Didier Jaffre.

The latter responded to them and, moreover, announced by way of a press release, his visit to Saint-Affrique to meet with the people concerned by the hospital file. “These discussions will take place at the Saint-Affrique town hall from January 6, in the presence of the ARS general director and all institutional decision-makers, elected officials from the area and representatives of healthcare stakeholders, to reaffirm at the start of 2025 the challenges and next steps of the future joint hospital in South Aveyron, such as the intermediate organisational arrangements for healthcare provision in this area”, writes the ARS in its press release.

And to continue in the press release: “Didier Jaffre wishes to confirm immediately the full attention and support that the ARS Occitanie is giving to each of the solutions envisaged to maintain the provision of hospital care in this area. […] In general, Didier Jaffre invites all local stakeholders to quickly strengthen their territorial solidarity and their work in joint teams. This is a fundamental condition for the attractiveness of this territory for new health professionals. The ARS does not have the authority to decide on the assignment of professionals within these health establishments.”

Since the collective was put back into action, several actions have taken place, including one in Millau to block access to his office, to the interim director of the Millau and Saint-Affrique hospitals. This was followed by an exchange in front of the hospital door.
