The press release An official statement from the European Commission also specifies that the social network its paid subscription. Thierry Breton also believes that the advertisements broadcast on the social network and the conditions of access to user data do not respect not DSA (European Digital Services Regulation) codes.
What consequences for Elon Musk and X?
The press release present by the European Union does not contain any deadline for the social network to comply with the commission's requirements. These declarations should, however, force Elon Musk to review the strategic positioning of the points mentioned, and in particular the paid blue badges.
According to several sources approached by BFM TV, the social network ;agrave; 6% of its global turnover if no arrangements are made.
Last November, the company had already responded to requests from the European Union regarding disinformation and hatred online. Responses which, however, do not seem not having appeasedé members of parliament who could well crack down on X in the coming months.
