Spread the love

After the Christmas holidays, gift resales are pouring into online sales sites. The eBay site recorded 340,000 ads this Wednesday, December 25, 2024 in the morning.

The day after Christmas Day, and the opening of gifts, some people may not have received the gift they had put on their list to Santa. So, instead of never using it, and leaving it lying around in the attic, some people prefer to resell it immediately.

200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000

As reported by BFM TV, the resale site eBay recorded 340,000 items this Wednesday morning, compared to 300,000 last year, an increase of more than 12%. The number of ads posted online should increase significantly in the coming hours. Indeed, the site anticipates around 600,000 possible ads posted between December 25 and 26, before the million mark is exceeded by this weekend, to finally triple in early January.

Connected devices, Legos, chess, and recent video games are among the main resale trends on eBay. These video games include the latest Call of Duty, Star Wars Outlaws, and the essential EA Sports FC 25.

A growing practice

44% of French people admit to having already resold a Christmas present, according to an Ebay press release shared a few days ago. A practice that has become more popular among 25-34 year olds (57%) than among those over 55 (26%).

“After a year in 2023 where inflation weighed on the purchasing power of the French, our 2024 barometer shows a reversal: the French now seem to attach more importance to treating themselves by reselling their gifts”, explains the document.
