Particularly in cars where three contenders saw all their hopes of triumph disappear on January 19th. Yanbu, end of the 46th edition of the legendary rally, held entirely this year in Saudi Arabia. Yazeed Al-Rajhi, leader of the general classification before setting off on Thursday morning, Nasser Al-Attiyah, outgoing winner, and St&phane Peterhansel, record holder of race victories (14), lost everything on the 549 kilometer loop around Shubaytah.

He made a jump in the general ranking, going from ninth to ninth place. third place, and can still believe in his chances of a first and final victory on the Dakar.
