After asking them in vain to stop their rodeo, police officers tried to secure the area. They were repeatedly provoked by the motorcyclists. One of them, perched on a green motorbike and wearing tracksuit bottoms and a sleeveless down jacket, got a little too close.

After brushing past a child on a bicycle, he lost control of his vehicle while crossing a central reservation, before ending up in the rear right corner of the police vehicle. He fell but got up to try to restart his motorcycle. It was at this point that a police officer got out of the vehicle and tried to arrest him by pushing him to the ground.

Middle fingers to the police officers?

According to his testimony, the defendant refused to be handcuffed. It was only with the help of two other police officers that the motorcyclist was able to be restrained.

“Disorderly behavior”

“The consequences could have been dramatic”, stressed the prosecutor. She requested a 12-month suspended prison sentence, an obligation to seek treatment and work or train, a road safety awareness course, the cancellation of her driving license with a ban on retaking it within six months, a fine of €450 and the confiscation of the motorcycle.

This is the sentence that was applied by the judges. However, they acquitted the accused of the rebellion charges.
