The new, very discreet feature added to WhatsApp is the best innovation in recent years

The latest option … ;e by WhatsApp to its famous messaging service is likely to please many users.

WhatsApp may be one of the most widely used instant messengers in the world, but that's not enough for its company, Meta. The company regularly adds new options, updates, and features to its flagship app. While some updates can be quite minor, users have noticed that that the latest addition to the app was radically changing their lives!

Unveiled at the beginning of July 2024, the update 2.24.15.5 for WhatsApp on Android integrates a new feature that was, until then, only available on iPhone. The latter had in fact been available on iOS since already several months, but required some additional adjustments to be deployed on Android smartphones.

200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000

Among the new features of this update, the feature to remember is called “audio transcription”. As you will have certainly understood, it allows you to transpose the audio messages you receive into text format to read. Very practical when you are in a meeting or you cannot clearly hear the sound of your phone.

For the moment, the “audio transcription” feature is only available with a limited number of languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Hindi. The WBetainfo site, which specializes in upcoming WhatsApp news, claims, however, that several other languages are already planned. There is no doubt that the French language should soon appear here and arrive at the same time as the functionality to transcribe audios! You may have to navigate through the app's settings to find this new addition and activate it to take advantage of it.

For the most skeptical, finally, know that WhatsApp promises that audio message transcriptions are done only on your device locally and that this feature therefore does not send any data to any remote server. Enough to reassure those who send private audios.
