The film The Batman was one of the great cinematic moments of the year 2022. The success of this feature film gave Matt Reeves the opportunity to build his own mini extended universe at DC Comics. We will therefore be entitled to a sequel on the big screen, but also to a spin-off series centered on the universe of the Penguin played by the excellent Colin Farrell. This launch is therefore scheduled for this Friday, September 20 on Max. Here are three things to know about the series.

This production takes place chronologically after The Batman in a Gotham plagued by terrible floods. In this tumultuous context, Oswald Cobblepot's business is going well and he is establishing himself as one of the rising figures of the local underworld.
We can clearly see that this new strongman will not give any gifts to his rivals. Once again, we are amazed by Colin Farrell's interpretation and by his physical transformation.

Every person. And being able to find that flaw, to dig around it, would be fun.”
Will Batman be in The Penguin??
It's a recurring rumor that seems more and more likely. According to insider Jeff Schneider, Batman would be in the series. It remains to be seen whether Robert Pattinson himself would reprise this role or whether it would just be a very brief appearance made by another actor or in computer-generated images. We can also imagine a kind of teaser for a more brutal confrontation in the next film The Batman.
What casting for The Penguin ?
Besides Colin Farrell, the series has a solid cast that makes us optimistic. We note the presence of Cristin Milioti (How I Met Your Mother) who plays Sofia Falcone. Clancy Brown (The Mandalorian) plays Salvatore Maroni.
Finally, the direction of the first two episodes is provided by Craig Zobel already working on the series Mare of Eastown. Of course, we will have to judge the result on its own merits, but the initial elements we have clearly give us reason to be optimistic for the future.
