Jérémy Brun, jeweler, and Frédéric Tichit, butcher, both shopkeepers in Marvejols, were awarded the label and the “Préférence Commerce” window sticker this Thursday, January 9, 2025 in the presence of Thierry Julier, the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Lozère and Patricia Brémond, the president of the Gévaudan community of communes and mayor of Marvejols.
This Thursday, January 9, 2025, the Brun jewelry store and the Tichit butcher's shop, located on Place Henri Cordesse in Marvejols, were officially awarded the “Préférence Commerce” label by the Lozère Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) in partnership with the Gévaudan community of communes. The audits of these two businesses had been carried out in 2024, thanks to mystery shoppers in particular.
The two merchants were able to place the window sticker on their windows testifying to the obtaining of this label, in the presence of Thierry Julier, the president of the Lozère CCI and Patricia Brémond, the president of the Gévaudan community of communes and mayor of Marvejols.
This label was created in 2012 by the CCI and is supported by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. It honors local businesses in any sector of activity, of less than 400 m² and which offer their customers a high-quality welcome and services. “We know the businesses that we are proposing for this label. For example, the butcher's shop was open every day during the holidays. We want to promote things that are no longer necessarily available everywhere and reward services provided to the population”, declares the mayor of the town.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000The window sticker affixed this Thursday, January 9, will now allow consumers to identify these businesses that make continuous improvement in the quality of their services a tangible commitment.
“Guarantee of excellence”
Thierry Julier stated that this initiative allows “the recognition of quality. We do this for the trader. To highlight him. However, the label is not given to everyone. There are about twenty in the whole department.” This label must therefore be deserved, because it is a “guarantee of excellence” for consumers. “We don't have to be ashamed of the businesses that Lozère has. We have great businesses and we need to promote them”, concludes the president of the CCI.
“It's a form of recognition for my work”, explains Jérémy Brun, the manager of the eponymous jewelry store. The 28-year-old opened his store in July 2023 and considers himself “very happy to practice this passionate profession, before adding [hoping] new customers thanks to the label.”His store is new, modern, refined, and his windows are neat. Guarantees of quality from the first glance.
Encouraging traders
Frédéric Tichit, for his part, opened his butcher's shop barely a year ago, on December 14, 2023. While the weather is not great outside, the atmosphere is warm in the shop. The manager and his apprentice butcher, Jérémy, seem to know all their customers and are welcoming. The store is spacious, well-organized and the products are tempting. “The store is very pleasant, it's well-organized and clean”, explains a customer.
“I'm a farmer alongside my butcher business. And I work with farmer friends, I buy my meat from farms that are no more than forty kilometers from the store. I'm committed to offering high-end meat. I know how I choose it, just like I choose my employees. This award is recognition of these quality products”, explains the butcher.
This designation also encourages local traders to continue and develop their business, especially in the rural environment of Lozère and “where [we] have no right to make mistakes”, assures Frédéric Tichit to conclude.
