Mourad Lahna was placed in pre-trial detention on January 30 after his arrest by the police in Bagnols-sur-Cèze. Accused of drug trafficking and money laundering, this rather sturdy thirty-something (11 mentions on his criminal record) claimed on Friday before the Nîmes criminal court that he is only a small hand in the network at the Citadel and acted under duress. He was allegedly threatened by hooded and armed men. “I have nothing to do with them… But if you don't hold the bag, they'll pull out the gun” , the defendant claimed. He was arrested in the Citadel district, near his car. The police seized 40g of cannabis herb, more than a kilo of herb and 41g of cocaine. They also discovered at his home, more than €8,000 that were barely concealed, sheets that he used to keep his accounts. “ The young people asked me to get back money that I deposited at home”, protests the defendant who is far from convincing the court. At his home, the police also have equipment to package drugs. “We have the impression that he is the treasurer-payer”, notes the prosecutor Willy Lubin. The Gardois was sentenced to 4 years in prison, one of which is suspended probation.
