In the Somme, the Cité underground of Naours, better known as the Grottes de Naours, was composed of its peak of 28 galleries and 300 rooms entirely dug by the hand of man in the limestone of the Picard plateau. Busy since the Middle Ages, this city has been around since the Middle Ages. underground which served as a refuge for the inhabitants of the village during wars and invasions is recognized as one of the largest in the North of France.
