Jean-Marc Biau, secretary of the Béziers section of the French Communist Party, presented his wishes to the Béziers activists. Wishes placed, among other things, under the sign of peace, class struggle and a union of the left in the territory.

Around fifty activists and supporters of the Béziers section of the French Communist Party met this Friday, January 17, in the late afternoon, in their headquarters, at the Joseph-Lazare popular circle. It was there that regional councilor Jean-Marc Biau, secretary of the Béziers section of the PCF, presented his wishes to them.

“A huge relief”

Wishes that began with a message of peace in the world with, in particular, “a thought for the Palestinian people” and an announcement of a ceasefire bringing “a huge relief”. The regional councilor did not fail to pin down Emmanuel Macron's policy that “we are fighting and will fight. We are resolutely in opposition to this new government.” The elected official recalled “that in France, poverty has been increasing for seven years”.

On this anniversary of the Veil law, Jean-Marc Biau noted that the “feminist conquests are fragile, especially the right to have an abortion. We must convince people that when women's rights progress, those of society also progress.”

A work undertaken in Béziers with other left-wing forces

For the coming year, the secretary of the Béziers section of the PCF has asked to “work by building a union on the left, a union based on a constant approach of principle. This is the only way to ensure the success of the struggles of the working class and the people.” Referring to the Béziers region and the upcoming municipal elections, he conceded that a “work has been undertaken with the other left-wing forces and in the coming days, the situation in the territory should become clearer.”

Finally, thinking of the activists, he stressed that “we must rejuvenate and strengthen ourselves. The year 2025 must be demanding and offensive with a party that displays its communist identity.”
