“The members and correspondents of the Académie des beaux-arts learned with great sadness of the death of their colleague Jean-Loup Dabadie, of the 'French Academy, great lover and talented servant of the arts and culture',published the venerable institution in a press release published shortly after the death of the man who died at the age of 81.
Married several times, the screenwriter and novelist left behind him three children born to different mothers. Daughter from his first union, Clémentine, now a television producer, remembers a “wonderful” relationship with her father. “Plus I'm his only daughter, so I had a rather special status in the family. I adored him”, she recently confided to Faustine Bollaert on the set of Ça starts today.

The opening of the will unfortunately did not strengthen the bonds within the clan. “We each received the will by email at the same time. And then, it was extremely violent because our father didn't address us. We weren't even mentioned in this will where he protected our mother-in-law”, explains Jean-Loup's only daughter Dabadie.
She continues: “As in all stories of inheritance that go badly, these are stories of love betrayed, so when we take a will like that in the face, we say to ourselves: 'But did he love us ?' We ask ourselves the question”. Disinherited, Clémentine Dabadie specifies finally that her mother-in-law “has the usufruct of all her property” until until she breathes her last.
According to Clémentine Dabadie, her father's estate would not be “colossal like that of the Hallydays or the Delons”. The sum would nevertheless amount to “several hundred thousands of euros”. The producer cannot bring herself to give up this money that she wants to bequeath to her 34-year-old daughter. However, the tax authorities are asking her for a guarantee to pay the inheritance tax to the death of the one who currently has the usufruct.
“Since my brothers live abroad, the tax authorities are going as close as possible and as quickly as possible. They took my small house that I own with my daughter, which is now mortgaged as a guarantee for inheritance rights with interest to be paid every year”, laments Clémentine Dabadie.
