These holiday dates will be snapped up in 2025, here are the days to book quickly to enjoy long weekends

With 2024 almost over, it's time to plan your long weekends in 2025 by identifying the public holidays. If 2025 has 11 public holidays like every year, 10 will fall on weekdays! A real treat for those looking for maximize their rest days without using up all their vacation time. With a few well-placed days off, we can turn the 2025 public holidays into a superbly long weekend. Remember that of all the public holidays in 2025, only All Saints' Day falls on a Saturday. For the others, everything happens during the week. Starting with January 1, New Year's Day, which opens on a Wednesday. If you take two days off before or after, you will get 5 days off. If you take two more days on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th December, you will double the bet to 8 days of vacation.

In the spring of 2025, the school calendar automatically offers us a 3-day weekend with the Easter Monday of April 21. By taking Friday, April 18, we can enjoy a longer weekend, unless you prefer to reserve ammunition for the month of May. Indeed, since May 1st and 8th fall on a Thursday this year, we can simply treat ourselves to 11 days of vacation by setting these 5 strategic dates: May 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 9th, 2025. The end of the month also offers the opportunity of a 4-day weekend by taking Friday, May 30, which follows Ascension Thursday on May 29.

In June, a 3-day weekend automatically awaits you with Whit Monday on June 9. Same thing for July, unless you are already on vacation, enjoy a 3-day weekend as well since July 14, the National Day, falls on a Monday. In August, finally, we also enjoy a 3-day weekend since the Assumption will fall on Friday the 15th. You can take extra days off as you wish.

In the fall, All Saints' Day will fall, the only black spot on the 2025 calendar since this holiday falls on Saturday, November 1st. But a nice surprise is in store on the horizon with the Armistice Day holiday on November 11th. Since it falls on a Tuesday, you only need to take Monday, November 10th off to get a splendid 4-day weekend in a row. Finally, Christmas will fall this year on a Thursday, December 25th, which also offers the possibility of to extend the holidays with a 4-day weekend by taking Friday, December 26th off.

With many long weekends that automatically happen in the summer, and a few vacation dates strategically placed between public holidays and weekends, 2025 is a great year to enjoy mini-vacations throughout the year.
