Despite the government's announcements, some retirees will indeed be revalued in a few weeks.

This is one of the government's strong announcements. In order to make savings, it is proposed that retirement pensions paid by Carsat not increase on January 1, as is usually the case. Michel Barnier wants this to happen only on July 1, without retroactivity, thus leading to a certain loss of earnings for millions of retirees. The project has sparked the ire of those most affected, but also of a large part of the political class.

The measure has not yet been adopted by Parliament and can still be cancelled. However, what the Prime Minister did not say is that despite his shock proposal, some seniors will see their pensions increase a little when the New Year comes around. About 600,000 of them will get a raise on the usual date.

~p>In January, according to annual inflation forecasts, all basic pensions must (were to?) be increased by the same amount. order of 1.8%. On an average pension of 860 euros, this represents an increase of around 15 euros per month. However, the vast majority of the 15 million in retirement eacute;s is about to be harmed because of the postponement to July 1. A cost-cutting effort legitimate in the eyes of the government because “pensions have increased more quickly than the average wage per head” over the last two years.

A fringe of retirees will however be increased On January 1st, no matter what Parliament decides: beneficiaries of the solidarity allowance for the elderly ( ASPA) and minimum old-age allowances (ASV). The latter will see their payments increase. These pensions “will remain revalued on January 1st”, he said. #39;ores and already warned the government.

In total, according to the latest data from 2022, this represents nearly 680,000 people. These two allowances should be increased by 1.8% and their average amounts increased to around 520 euros for ASPA and 425 euros for ASV.
