This Friday, January 24, 2024, David Hallyday went back in time with Faustine Bollaert in La boîte à questions on France 3. Several people close to Cameron's father shed light on parts of his life that had previously been ignored by the general public. During this intimate journey, the host of the show wanted to know if an object linked him to his dad.

David Hallyday's reaction was rather surprising. “Do you want to get in there ? Really ? Çit was going well until now“, he replied with a wry smile. Faustine Bollaert did not answer his question directly: “I had to ask you this question. And you won't regret asking it. Because in our humble way, at our very small level, we wanted to surprise you”…

David Hallyday: what is this object that binds him to his father ?

With his ears pricked up, David Hallyday first listened to a mysterious female voice that emerged from his childhood in Grosrouvre, in the Yvelines. “It's been more than 40 years since we last saw each other and today, I would like to tell you that in this box lies an object dear to my heart that I would like to offer you”, teased the one who spent her “first years” life with the eldest of the Hallyday clan.

Then appeared on stage a woman named Gaëlle, granddaughter of the governess in charge of the stewardship of her house in the 60s-70s. David Hallyday received from his hands a guitar that the teen idol had given to his grandmother in 1973 “to thank her for her work accomplished” from Sylvie Vartan and him. Both moved and surprised, the singer took the heir of the musical instrument in his arms, thanking her.
