This is the French people's favorite region in 2024 and they say why

Spread the love

It has become THE favorite region ;eacute;rée of the French for this reason in particular.

France is famous for the diversity of its landscapes, its gastronomy and its cultural and architectural riches, offering different experiences depending on its regions. However, from the point of view of its inhabitants, are all its regions really equal? ? Nothing could be less certain. In order to know the favorite region of the French, we have carried out a survey from October 3 to 7, 2024 on 2,070 people representative of the French national population, aged 18 and over, carried out online by our partner, the polling institute YouGov France.

We asked respondents to choose their favourite region among the 13 regions that have been redistributing France since 2014. At the top of the ranking of the French people's favourite regions, it is a region that has always been neck and neck with another that wins the prize: Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (PACA), with a score of 13.21%, followed by Île-de-France (11.94%) and then Brittany (11.08%), which form the leading trio. The main reason why those surveyed chose Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur as their preferred region is not at all surprising: for its climate above all, a choice acclaimed by 64% of those surveyed, followed very far behind by its natural heritage, chosen by 17%. And yes, spending one's life in the sun is a desire deeply rooted in the hearts of the French!

The Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region is always a dream come true, and this time it has truly dethroned Brittany if we are to believe some serious previous surveys, the image of the study carried out by Sociovision for TF1 and called "The Great Survey of the Regions", published in December 2021, which placed Brittany at the top of the list. 35% ahead of the PACA region just behind, 32%. It must be said that it is pleasant to walk among the olive groves, vineyards, lavender fields and pine forests of the PACA region, with mild temperatures all year round, not to mention its magnificent coves and beaches that line the Mediterranean and its cities with intense cultural experiences, the image of Marseille and its legendary Panier district, Arles and its Roman amphitheater, Nice and its Bay of Angels… So many little paradises that can be enjoyed outdoors all year round!

Our survey also revealed that the choice of the PACA region as the preferred region was mainly acclaimed by seniors, 15% by 45-54 year-olds and 16% by those over 55. On the other hand, it is more shunned by young workers aged 25-34 and 35-44, who chose it as their preferred region by only 9% and 8% respectively. And you, are you convinced by this TOP 3 of the regions ? Let us remember however that each region of France has its own particularities and traditions, which makes France a wonderful country to explore as a whole.
