If you're one of the people who shares screenshots of their Tinder dates with their friends, whether to ask for advice or as a precaution, we have good news. Soon there will no longer be a need to take these screenshots. Indeed, the messaging app is preparing an official feature, called “Share My Date” which will allow you to share a link containing information about your date.
According to our colleagues at TechCrunch, this feature will be deployed in the coming months in the following countries: United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, Spain, Italy, Countries -Netherlands, India, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Brazil, Singapore, Switzerland, Mexico, Korea, Vietnam and Thailand.
Still according to TechCrunch's explanations, these links allow you to share information such as the name of the person you plan to meet, the meeting place, the date and time. The user also has the possibility to add a note. If the link is opened by a friend who also uses Tinder, they will be able to access the match's full profile, but without the ability to send a message.
On the other hand, if the link is opened on a browser, the available information is limited. Otherwise, Share My Date links can be created up to 30 days before the scheduled date on Tinder, and the information included in the link can be changed.
To design this feature, Tinder would have drawn inspiration from user practices. In fact, 51% of single users under the age of 30 would share information about their dates with their friends.
“At Tinder, we continue to release new features that aim to create a fun, safe and respectful experience for everyone”, said Melissa Hobley, Chief Marketing Officer, Tinder , in a press release relayed by TechCrunch. “Discussing your plans with friends and family is an age-old dating ritual. Share My Date streamlines this sharing of basic information so singles can get straight to the exciting part, from figuring out what to wear to preparing conversation topics.”
Otherwise, remember that Tinder also offers a feature called Matchmaker. In short, it allows users to get recommendations from their friends.
