This smartphone of unrivaled finesse will overshadow Apple and Samsung

In recent years, smartphones have tended to get thicker, mainly because of photo sensors. But for a while now, some manufacturers have been trying to offer thinner devices. This is the case, for example, of Samsung, which in January unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge, which will be a thinner version of the Galaxy S25. And Apple is also reportedly preparing a model called the iPhone 17 Air, which will be thinner than the other iPhones in this series.

This race for thinness also concerns tablets and folding smartphones. And this February, the Chinese brand Oppo will launch the Oppo Find N5, a foldable model that, according to it, will be the thinnest in the world. Currently, the thinnest folding smartphone in the world is the Honor Magic V3, which has a thickness of 4.35 mm. And as a result, the future Oppo model should therefore have a thickness close to 4 mm, when unfolded. It should, moreover, be just a little thicker than the USB-C charging port.

A global launch this February

The launch of the Oppo Find N5 is scheduled for this February. And apparently, the manufacturer is planning a large production, since instead of launching this model only in China, at first, it has decided to organize a global launch. In the meantime, the brand has already shared, on the social network Weibo, images that compare the finesse of the Oppo Find N5 with that of an iPhone and other objects.

Otherwise, we should also note that the Oppo Find N5 should be the basis for another folding smartphone: the OnePlus Plus Open 2. As you may already know, Oppo and OnePlus belong to the same group.

  • Oppo is about to make a big splash by presenting the new thinnest folding smartphone of the world
  • The brand will make the Oppo Find N5 official this February and this model will not be reserved for the Chinese market
  • In the meantime, the latter has already posted some images, comparing the thickness of the Oppo Find N5 with that of other objects, including an iPhone
  • The Oppo Find N5 should be thinner than the Honor Magic V3, which has a thickness of 4.35 mm
  • The Oppo Find N5 should also be the basis of the future OnePlus Open 2, since Oppo and OnePlus belong to the same group
