Interviewed by Le Parisien on the occasion of the release of his new film, Franck Dubosc a little-known facet of his personality.

Franck Dubosc starts the year 2025 in style. His new film, A Bear in the Jura, hits theaters this Wednesday, January 1st. The actor and director plays a man riddled with debts who discovers by chance several million euros in the trunk of a car of a couple he accidentally killed on the road. Opposite him, Benoît Poelvoorde plays a policeman in charge of the investigation.
“Benoît had this tenderness in his eyes that would make you immediately love the character”, explains Franck Dubosc in an interview given to Parisien this week. He continues: “There are similarities between our two careers: he started out being funny and then he went to all the registers”.

“I like amoral stories because I think that I'm too honest in life, he confides to our colleagues. So I like to have a little fun with the dishonest.” Benoît Poelvoorde then adds: “I am the most moral man in the film… In any case, I did interviews in Belgium, that's what I was told”.
Directing an actor of the caliber of Benoît Pooelvorde was not easy. “I pissed him off. But at the end, he said to me: 'My Francky, I understand why you pissed me off”, relates the star of the trilogy Camping in the same interview. His Belgian sidekick confirms : “There are only two people who could give me their opinion: my makeup artist and Franck”.
Despite the difficulty, an atmosphere of frank camaraderie bonded the two men with their accomplice Laure Calamy on the set ofA Bear in the Jura. “Benoît and Laure together, it was the playground!”, laughs Franck Dubosc, adding: “I have photos of the two that I will never divulge…”. We won't know more!
