Towards the end of its career (already ?) for Apple's Vision Pro ?

It was at the beginning of the year, Apple launched in the United States its long-awaited Vision Pro, a helmet mixed reality with the false air of a space computer, which opened the way for a whole new category of products at the American giant. After a rather mixed reception across the Atlantic, the recent launch of the Vision Pro in France , and internationally, was to be a crucial step for the future of the product. However, with its entry ticket set at €3,999 in our country and an interest that is struggling to make itself known, Apple's headset is not a success.

Production of the Vision Pro stopped in November ?

Considered too heavy, too bulky, not very durable (in addition to being too expensive), with the added bonus of restricted content and uses that limit its adoption, the Vision Pro is facing a lower demand than expected. Also, according to various American media, Apple has already decided to reduce production of its headset. Even more radical, the latter could also be stopped during the month of November, to be possibly relaunched later if demand were to explode by surprise. Current stocks would however be largely sufficient to cover demand for the coming months, since it is rumored that between 500,000 and 600,000 units would be available.

Apple would not, however, close the door to this new market, since a more affordable model would still be in the pipeline. A “cheaper” Vision Pro could therefore be launched in the more or less near future, with concessions that would be made at the screen level in particular, in order to reduce production costs as much as possible, and the final sale price.

For this new model, Apple is said to have asked its suppliers to produce four million units over the entire product life cycle, which represents only half of the Vision Pro's original goals. This future “affordable” Vision Pro could also recover many components already produced by the factories of the American giant, in order to sell off the existing stock.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for this space computer from Apple, which is currently failing to attract buyers. The object nevertheless tickles the curiosity of many high-tech enthusiasts, as evidenced by the demonstrations available in Apple Stores, but the formula will undoubtedly need to be refined to hope to permanently install a Vision Pro in homes.
