Tram line 5: the first station shelters are installed on the northern part of the construction site

The holidays were studious as far as the construction site of tram line 5 is concerned. And the workers were not idle. They installed, as agreed in the work schedule, the first station surrounds, giving line 5, which will be inaugurated in less than a year, its final configuration.

In front of the Atrium of Paul Valéry University, the framework of the first two stations was laid on either side of the two traffic lanes. The electrical cables are even waiting to be connected to the overhead contact line that carries the current essential for the movement of the tramway.

A few dozen meters of rails to be laid on the northern section

A little further up, on the road to Mende, near Avenue du Professeur Emile Jeanbrau, at the Pôle Chimie Balard stop, another station is being set up. And this will continue until the Girac roundabout stop throughout the month of January.

The northern sector is the part where the work is most advanced. On this section, the vegetation is already in place and there are only a few dozen meters of rails left to be laid. This is where the first tests of the Urbos 100X CA trains will be carried out this summer. This will be in July.
