Michel Ortiz, un entrepreneur engagé pour la protection de l’environnement. ML
Michel Ortiz, a Béziers entrepreneur passionate about waste recycling, has dedicated himself, for over a decade and after thirty-four years in the construction industry, to a project that combines service and environmental commitment.
Coming from the third generation of the family masonry company, it was at the age of 50 that Michel Ortiz decided to launch himself into a sector more in line with his convictions: waste recycling. With his first truck, he laid the foundations of his skip hire and waste treatment business. Some fifteen years later, the company has three trucks and ten skips, and treats over 1,200 tons of waste per year. “What I like is seeing waste transformed into new resources!”, he confides. His clientele, made up of individuals and professionals, from Narbonne to Sète, appreciates his personalized services: short- or long-term skip rental, advice on choosing the right skip for the volume and type of waste, and strict compliance with environmental and local standards.

House clearance after work or as part of an inheritance, waste management from industries or construction companies, removal of rubble and bulky items after a disaster, etc. Michel Ortiz ensures the transport, sorting and routing of waste – rubble, wood, metals, cardboard, plaster, etc. – to specialized and local sorting centers. Such as Valoridec in Lespignan, Derichebourg Environnement in Béziers or Riwald Recycling in Thézan-lès-Béziers. Wood, for example, is transformed into fuel, rubble is crushed and recycled into all-run materials and metals are revalued for new industrial uses. “Before, we buried everything. Now, we recycle, and that's essential for the planet”, emphasizes the founder.
Faced with illegal dumping, Michel Ortiz campaigns for better waste management. “Recycling is still expensive for some, but it's a collective responsibility. The less we sort, the more expensive it is. It's this reality that pushes us to change.”With a turnover growth of 30% per year, Michel Ortiz has observed an increase in his clients' awareness of environmental issues for several years. His only regret: “My job is a real passion, I should have started earlier. Transforming waste is transforming our future.” A strong commitment that demonstrates his desire to combine family tradition and modernity to meet today's challenges.
