She accumulates fines in spite of herself… Méline, an 18-year-old woman from Verneuil-sur-Vienne (Haute-Vienne) has received more than thirty fines, and this for more than two years, for having traveled without a valid transport ticket. The problem is that she has never taken one of these trains.

The SNCF is now demanding a total of more than 21,000 euros from her, according to Le Populaire du Centre. “The only problem is that my identity has been stolen, and I have never taken a single one of these trains in two years,” Méline complains. “On the fines received, it is not my correct date of birth each time”, she told our colleagues.

Journeys throughout France: Limoges-Bellac, Limoges-Paris, Lyon or even Marseille. In short, the person whoever is stealing his identity seems to have taken advantage of it. “I contest each of the fines, trying to prove that I was somewhere other than on that train,” the young woman confides. Frankly, I'm angry. And it's very sad to have to come to this. I just want it all to end.”

Exasperated by the fines that continue to arrive, despite the dozens of complaints filed over the last two years, she explains that she wrote to SNCF Voyageurs on June 30, who responded to provide them with “proof of presence elsewhere than on the trains at the time the offences were noted”, then allowing this usurpation to be recorded and an alert to be triggered.
