Trump camp reports 'threats' against members of his team

Several members of Donald Trump's future administration have been victims of “threats,” the president-elect's spokeswoman said Wednesday, citing in particular “bomb threats.”

“Last night and this morning, several individuals appointed by President Trump to join his team were the victims of violent and anti-American threats,” Karoline Leavitt said in a statement.

Donald Trump's spokeswoman spoke of “attacks” ranging from “bomb threats” to “swatting,” the practice of provoking police raids on victims' homes, without providing further details.

The federal police, the FBI, confirmed that it was “aware of numerous bomb threats and swatting targeting individuals expected to join the next administration.”

“We take all potential threats seriously,” she assured in a press release.

The elected Elise Stefanik, nominated by Donald Trump to be American ambassador to the UN, affirmed in a press release that she had been “informed of a bomb threat at [her] home.”

The presidential campaign was one of the most tense in modern US history, with Donald Trump being the victim of two assassination attempts.
