Donald Trump claims that singer Taylor Swift “will pay the price” for his support for Kamala Harris, less than two months before the American presidential election.

In the debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris on Tuesday, September 10, the Democratic candidate emerged as the winner for many American political observers and analysts. In an op-ed published on Fox News, analyst Doug Schoen assured that there was “a clear winner, but don't think that this election is over.” “It's pretty clear to me that on Tuesday night, Vice President Kamala Harris won which may well be the only debate between her and former President Donald Trump. For his part, Donald Trump judges on Truth Social to have never debated so well: “I thought it was my best debate,” he said.

As soon as the debate ended, American pop star Taylor Swift made a point of supporting Kamala Harris in the race for the White House.  "I'm voting for Kamala Harris because she fights for rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to defend. I think she's a steady and gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos," she explained in an Instagram post, accompanied by of a photo with his cat to mock Donald Trump.

Indeed, Taylor Swift signed her message “Childless Cat Lady”, understand: old maid with a cat, with a photo of her and her pet. A reference to a controversial and misogynistic statement by Donald Trump's running mate, J.D. Vence, in a 2021 video that was not humorous and resurfaced this summer. In the video, released three years ago, conservative J.D. Vence accused the Democrats in power of being a bunch of “unhappy cat ladies” who “therefore want to make the rest of the country unhappy too.” The opportunity was too good for Taylor Swift to pay the Republicans, Donald Trump and his running mate. An attitude that clearly did not enchant the former president of the United States.

After the publication of Taylor Swift's message and photo on Instagram, Donald Trump did not miss to respond by threatening the singer.  "She's a very liberal person, she always seems to support a Democrat and she'll probably pay the price for it in the market," he said. A Trump-style media outing, as the Republican candidate loses ground slightly in the polls. Indeed, according to 270towin, at the national level, the real estate mogul collects 47.5% of the votes, while the Democrat benefits from 48.38% of the votes. The two candidates are neck and neck, and the election should be played out, as often, according to the results in the “Swing States”. These “undecided states, for which the political color can vary from one election to the next the other.
