Trump's Crazy Proposal to Keep Some Foreigners Out of the United States

In his platform for the American presidential election, Donald Trump includes a proposal that recalls a measure applied by the Nazi regime in 1941.

&With less than a month to go until the US presidential election, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are neck and neck in the polls. The Republican candidate is slightly ahead of his Democratic rival on a national scale, according to the political analysis site 538 of the media ABC News, with 46% of potential votes against 48.4%. To retain conservative voters acquired his cause, and convince voters who are still undecided, the real estate magnate is banking on a program that is clearly identified with the American right, both economically and on immigration.

Donald Trump's program has the merit of being clear in terms of immigration: he wants to launch “the largest expulsion operation” of migrants as soon as he is elected if he were to join the White House. The former president of the United States is also considering “using the army” to achieve his ends and expel migrants, then open new detention camps. Automatic birthright citizenship will also be revoked if Donald Trump is elected, “for children born to irregular migrants.” Be careful, such a measure would be contrary to the 14th Amendment to the American Constitution, and its application is already compromised, de facto, even if Donald Trump is elected on November 5. Joe Biden's predecessor recently accused migrants of “poisoning the country's blood.”

In the columns of Time, Donald Trump indicates that this “expulsion plan” would concern 15 to 20 million people in the country. The operation could begin, in the event of a second term of the latter, by targeting certain cities such as Springfield (Ohio) or Aurora (Colorado), already targeted during his campaign, particularly during rallies.

"Keeping Foreign Communists, Marxists and Socialists Out of America"

Republicans are also considering two other clear measures that the U.S. legal immigration system “prioritizes American workers.” The proposals are part of Donald Trump's 2024 presidential election platform, unsurprisingly titled Make America Great Again. First, the party will prioritize merit-based immigration, “ensuring that “that those admitted to our country contribute positively to our society and economy, and never become a drain on public resources,” the document reads. In other words, giving priority to American workers.

At the same time, Donald Trump is considering cutting federal funding for “sanctuary jurisdictions that release dangerous illegal alien criminals onto our streets, rather than turning them over to ICE,” one of the government agencies tasked with repatriating or deporting immigrants. But that's not all, by diving into the Republican candidate's program, one point seems to stand out in particular, it is point number 4, “strict control”, of the second chapter “seal the border and stop the invasion of migrants”.

Donald Trump plans, as stated in black and white in his platform, to use “existing federal law to “keep foreign communists, Marxists and socialists who hate Christians out of America.” When asked On Fox News Sunday, November 13, Donald Trump said that the “National Guard,” or even “military forces if necessary,” should be deployed against an “enemy within,” whom he did not name, after the network asked him about possible “agitators” during the election. Trump assured wanting to repress “very bad people (…) crazy people, extreme left-wing lunatics”. The day before, in California, he notably attacked a “elected member of the State House of Representatives, Adam Schiff, a “scumbag” and a “sick person”, among the “worst enemies of the interior”.

Could the decision to remove certain populations from the national territory be extended to tourists ? In this case, how can we determine the political color of a European wishing to enter American territory ? In France, for example, universal suffrage is always secret, in accordance with Article 3 of the Constitution as recalled by the Constitutional Council. The secrecy of the vote is guaranteed by compliance with procedures in polling stations on election days. It is impossible, in this case, to prohibit the entry into the United States of a French citizen whose political sensitivity is close to communism, for example. “Those who join our Country must love our Country. “We will use extreme control to ensure that jihadists and jihad sympathizers are not admitted,” the Republican program specifies, without giving further details on the “extreme control” that could be put in place.

A proposal that recalls a measure applied by the Nazis

In a campaign speech in Washington in June 2023, Donald Trump recalled, according to him, the growing danger of socialism and communism. “Ultimately, either the communists destroy America, or we destroy the communists (…) This is the final battle. With you by my side, we will drive out the globalists, we will drive out the communists,” he declared. He called for mass deportations of immigrants with left-wing views: “Using federal law, Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, I will direct my government to bar the entry of all Communists and all Marxists,” he explained.

But that's not all. The Republican candidate also announced “a new plan to protect the integrity of our immigration system. Federal law prohibits communists and totalitarians from entering the United States. But my question is: What are we going to do with those who are already here, who grew up here ? I think we need to pass a new law for them.” An exit that had never happened before, no major political figure in the United States had uttered these words.

The Denaturalization Acts of 1933, on Reich Citizenship and the 11th Decree of the Reich Citizenship Act of 1941 had allowed the Nazi government of the time to deprive hundreds of thousands of Germans of their citizenship rights. in the name of their political opinion (socialist) or their Jewish or Roma origins by placing them outside the “Volksgemeinschaft”. Using Hitler's language for Donald Trump had marked a real tipping point in American democracy. According to Michael Bender, the author of the book Frankly, We did win this election, Donald Trump is said to have declared during a visit to France in 2018 that Hitler “did a lot of good things”. Six years later, Trump's platform for the American presidency recalls a measure applied by the Nazi regime.
