Since Donald Trump was elected, masculinist discourse has spread without complexes. The slogan “your body, my choice” has been widely propagated on social networks.
Since Donald Trump's victory in the American presidential election, masculinists have been having a field day. “Hey…, we're monitoring your bodies. Guess what” ? Guys won again, “said Nick Fuentes, an American influencer, after the election. He greedily mocked the Democrats' attempt to elect a woman White House: “There will never, ever be a woman president. Never! It's over.” “A glass ceiling? Dude, it's a brick ceiling. Your stupid head keeps hitting the brick ceiling,” he said at length on his “America First” show, Le Parisien reported. He also hijacked the feminist slogan “My body, my choice,” launched in the 1960s to defend women's sexual freedom and their right to abortion. This gives “Your body, my choice”, which illustrates a desire for control over women's bodies, initiated by the backtracking on the right of American women to dispose of their bodies since the annulment of Roe v. Wade.
This slogan published on X quickly accumulated 95,000 views, 52,000 likes, 36,000 reposts and 21,000 comments, a real success. And Nick Fuentes is not the only one whose sexism has been exalted by Donald Trump's victory. We also notice the use of this slogan among representatives of the “trad wife” movement, who are women who advocate for an archaic model of the family, with women at home and men at work. Masculinist influencer Andrew Tate also declared on X, on November 7: “I saw a woman who wanted to cross today, but I didn't stop. Right of passage? You no longer have the right,” it read before the post was deleted. Some are even calling for women's right to vote to be revoked.

The Democratic candidate has been insulted, called mentally handicapped, questioned about her IQ, etc. The president-elect is also known for his more than disrespectful behavior towards women. He has been found responsible for the sexual assault of former journalist E. Jean Carroll in May 2023. We also remember a scene filmed by the NBC channel in 2005, and rebroadcast during Donald Trump's first campaign, during which he said: “When you're a star, they let you do it. You do whatever you want,” adding that he could “grab” women by the “pussy.” He ended up apologizing after these remarks were broadcast.
The president-elect also made inappropriate comments about his daughter, Ivanka, whom he said he could “date” if she wasn't his daughter. During his campaign against Hillary Clinton in 2016, he reused the former president's cheating scandal, saying, “If Hillary Clinton can't satisfy her husband, how can she satisfy America?” ? The list goes on. It is therefore not surprising that masculinists feel free to openly insult women and promote dangerous behavior.
Donald Trump's entourage also allows this freedom from complexes. J.D. Vance and Elon Musk are popular figures among masculinists who consider that they represent strong men. The billionaire has also changed the policy of X as soon as he arrived at the head of the social network, making way for insulting remarks to towards women, and even rehabilitating Nick Fuentes' account, which had been banned for racist, anti-Semitic, sexist and homophobic comments. Recently, his personal address was shared on social networks and women have once again hijacked its slogan, thus becoming “Your home, our choice”, or “your house, our choice”, a touch of sarcastic humor, which could still be a source of harassment, which will not prevent the masculinist machine from progressing in the minds, including of the youngest, very present and easily influenced on social networks.
