US Elections: What Elon Musk's $1 Million Per Day Gift Promised Is Hidden ?

Last week, Elon Musk and his super PAC, America PAC, struck a major blow by launching a petition that allows voters to commit to the First and Second Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. These refer to freedom of speech and the right to bear arms. He has promised $47 to all signatories who reside in one of the states pivots.

Elon Musk is investing crazy amounts of money for Donald Trump

In reality, it is mainly about motivating conservative voters to register to vote and support Donald Trump's campaign. The Tesla boss continues to take out his checkbook. Last weekend, during a rally in Pennsylvania, a key state in the November 5 election, he promised to give a million dollars every day to someone who signed this petition.

A first beneficiary was rewarded this Saturday during the event, and, unsurprisingly, the latter is a supporter of the former American president. Proof, if any were needed, that this approach is focused on the upcoming election, only voters registered on the electoral rolls of the states of Pennsylvania, Arizona, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Michigan, Georgia and Nevada (areas that can swing the election) are concerned.

Experts debate the legality of such an approach, but that clearly does not prevent Elon Musk from continuing his effort, especially since, if legal action were to be launched, it would be far too late to stop him. But the leader also seems to have other ideas in mind.

Elon Musk has every interest in seeing Donald Trump win

He has indeed a very particular interest in seeing Donald Trump win on November 5. In a recent survey, the New York Timesrevealed that the companies he runs were promised $3 billion for nearly 100 different contracts with 17 federal agencies last year, and that figure climbs to around $15 billion if you go back even further.

At the same time, his run-ins with federal regulators are numerous. His companies have been the subject of at least 20 recent investigations and reviews, including over potential environmental damage from SpaceX rockets and the safety of Tesla cars.

However, the American daily points out that Donald Trump has promised to appoint him to head a new “government efficiency commission” with the power to recommend sweeping budget cuts to federal agencies and changes to federal rules if they win.

And our colleagues clarify: ” This would essentially give the world's richest man and a major government contractor the power to regulate the regulators who influence his companies, which would be a potentially huge conflict of interest.”

It is therefore easier to understand, beyond the ideological aspect, why Elon Musk is so involved in the electoral battle.
