Vainqueur d’une courte tête de C’Chartres, Lattes-Montpellier s’en sort indemne (67-68) grâce à un shoot miraculeux de sa capitaine Romane Berniès.

After the more than frustrating and disappointing elimination on Wednesday against Charnay (53-54), the BLMA bounced back by avoiding the trap set by the red lantern. In the brand new Colisée, Lattes-Montpellier held its rank as an outsider and put a final point to end the week on a good note.

With the firm intention of putting in the same ingredients that had ruined the hopes of Basket Landes a week ago (52-39), Valéry Demory's team did not produce the same result. If it was consistent for nearly 30 minutes, the missed last quarter could have had more unfortunate consequences.

This third success in a row was validated by character and a three-point shot from captain Romane Bernies three seconds from the end on a huge step back, but it was laborious in the finale, as the locals seemed able to win the jackpot.

Scares but the feeling of duty accomplished

If the Latto-Montpellier women have long limited their weak points and demonstrated a collective alchemy of the highest order, they almost ruined everything. In the wake of the trio Naigre – Bernies – Angloma, 14 points each, the Gazelles led the race almost the entire match (6-13, 4th; 10-18, 7th, 23-37, 16th).

Containing the opposing rebellion during a third quarter where the C’Chartres Basket Féminin gained depth, the BLMA still kept a certain margin (50-58, 28th). Except that these repeated turnovers (20 in total) and the 10-0 suffered by Enabosi and his ilk redistributed the cards (52-62, 32nd, 62-62, 35th). Close to the precipice when the red lantern dominated the money-time (67-65, 39th), the three-point shot of Romane Bernies freed the Héraultaises.

If everything was not perfect, overall the Gazelles always had a step ahead of their opponent, in order not to fall into the announced Eurelian trap. Focus now on the European Cup with the reception of the Lithuanians of Klaipeda this Thursday before chaining two receptions at home in the championship (Roche Vendée then Villeneuve d’Ascq) with the hope of gaining a few places in the ranking.
